Sounds of the Next Generation (SONG) is Northumberland County's only children's charity promoting social development through the pursuit of musical excellence. SONG is a free, after-school el Sistema program for children and youth ages 6-13 that believes the singing voice is everyone's primary instrument, and that singing in a group is one of the best ways to build community and connection. Through high-calibre choral and orchestral ensemble instruction, children and youth who wouldn't otherwise be able to access music education excel in learning transferable skills in social engagement, inclusiveness, communication, and leadership.
Below is a collection of data which was either self-reported by the artist or organization, or researched through publicly available information sources.
SONG students begin their first year in choir with a choice of 1-3 rehearsals a week, and the option to learn strings, rehearsing 1-2 times a week.
