RBC Emerging Musician Program

Canada’s Walk of Fame is looking for the country’s best young musicians – the RBC Emerging Musician Program, (formerly the Emerging Artist Music Mentorship Program, Supported by RBC) is back for its 7th and biggest year yet! Submit a video or audio performance for your chance to win!

The Emerging Musician Program will select and support 5 winners from across the country by providing them with tangible real-world experiences designed to help elevate their music and careers in a meaningful and sustainable way.

Winners will receive:

Grand Prize consists of:

  • A Twenty Thousand Dollar ($20,000 CAN) cash prize.
  •  A performance opportunity at the Great Hall in Toronto in November 2019.
  •  A performance opportunity at Festival du Voyageur in Winnipeg, Manitoba in February 2020.
  • Private studio recording time
  • CWOF introduction to a minimum of one (1) established music artist.
  • CWOF introductions to a minimum of two (2) music industry executives, which may include agents, managers, recording contract executives, and/or entertainment lawyers.
  • Performance opportunities at CWOF events (to be determined by CWOF).
  • Music Industry Career Development Mentorship Session with:
    (i) A&R executives at major record label Universal Music.
    (ii) An established recording artist.
    (iii) An experienced music industry agent.
  • Album cover artwork design.
  • Two (2) Tickets to the 2019 Awards and Gala (includes Red Carpet, Pre-Show Reception, Broadcast Gala, Post-Show Reception)

A secondary prize consists of:

  • A Six Thousand Dollar ($6,000 CAN) cash prize.
  • A performance opportunity at the Great Hall in Toronto in November 2019.
  • A performance opportunity at Festival du Voyageur in Winnipeg, Manitoba in February 2020.
  • Private studio recording time.
  • A performance opportunity at a CWOF event. (to be determined by CWOF).
  • Music Industry Career Development Mentorship Session with:
    • A&R executives at major record label Universal Music.
    • An established recording artist.
    • An experienced music industry agent.

Three additional finalist prizes consist of:

  • A Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000 CAN) cash prize.
  • A performance opportunity at the Great Hall in Toronto in November 2019.
  • A performance opportunity at a CWOF event. (to be determined by CWOF).
  • Music Industry Career Development Mentorship Session with:
    • A&R executives at major record label Universal Music.
    • An established recording artist.
    • An experienced music industry agent.

In addition, the Winners will be announced via media release and profiled on the Canada’s Walk of Fame website, as well as being profiled in our 2019 Magazine/Program.

Eligible participants must be between the ages of 15 – 35 at the time of submission and demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career in music.

The Program is open to residents of Quebec, making it a truly national initiative.
