Funding region:
Waterloo
Ontario

The Region of Waterloo Arts Fund is a not-for-profit corporation established by the Regional Municipality of Waterloo. The Arts Fund was created to operate at arm's length from the Regional Municipality which provides an annual per capita allocation to grant funding for the performing, visual and literary arts.

The Arts Fund's aim is to make the process of applying for funds as straightforward as possible, and to provide meaningful grants.

Who Can Apply?

Organizations and individual practitioners in all arts disciplines, including performing (theatre, music, dance), visual, literary, film/video/media, interdisciplinary and community arts are eligible to submit an application for consideration.

Unincorporated projects, groups and/or collectives may submit proposals, but corporations must be not-for-profit, managed by a volunteer board and the majority of its members and/or clients must live or work in the Region of Waterloo.

Applicants must be adults - defined in the provincial Age of Majority and Accountability Act as 18 and older - to apply for an Arts Fund grant, to sign the Grant Agreement, and to receive funds.

How Much Funding Is Available?

The intention is to provide meaningful grants. There is no requirement for a minimum or maximum request amount. However, the Arts Fund allocates its limited annual budget to support projects in all disciplines across the entire Region

Deadlines

The Region of Waterloo Arts Fund evaluates applications twice each year, during the Spring and Fall. At each stage of the process, decision notification letters are mailed to both successful and unsuccessful applicants.
