Gateway Theatre

Gateway Theatre enriches the quality of life in Richmond and surrounding communities by creating outstanding professional theatre and serving as a dynamic hub for the performing arts. Incorporated in 1982, Gateway is a vital member of the professional theatre scene in the Lower Mainland providing live performances, high-quality performing arts classes accessible to youth ages 6-18 via the Gateway Academy, and venue space for professional and community producers. Gateway Theatre has been adopting a radical new vision in its programming and initiatives, challenging long-held assumptions about theatre and who it serves by cultivating a variety of free, community-driven initiatives in addition to its traditional performances. Gateway has turned its venue into a creative hub for collaboration and community-building, currently led by Camilla Tibbs, Executive Director, and the artistic leadership of Barbara Tomasic and Jasmine Chen.
