Garth Prince

Garth Prince is a vocal performer with years of experience in promoting African culture and community building through song, dance and (now) Orff instruments. He performs concerts and teaches workshops in schools across Canada and Namibia, and encourages cultural diversity in an environment of work and play that appeals to students of all ages and abilities.

Growing up in Namibia, he learned music by rote. Since living in Canada, he broadened his teaching and performance methods to include vocal jazz and Orff Schulwerk. Recognized as a role model by the Edmonton Arts Council, The National Black Coalition of Canada, and The Black Canadian Awards, Garth consistently pursues his life's purpose to build a bridge between western and African musical traditions. In doing so, he promotes global peace, equality and friendships with what he believes is a powerful force for positive change: music.
