Miss Coco is a dance educator, mentor, performer and cultural arts programmer. Her mobile, dance education business focuses on highlighting and educating on the history and social practice of cultural dances from the African and Caribbean diaspora. She designs culturally-responsive programs, offers presentations, workshops, dance instruction and performance featuring many dances across the globe. Concepts of equity, anti-oppression and pluralism are infused in her work.

Amesbury Cultural Experience

With the generous support of the Toronto Arts Council and Ontario Arts Council, Amesbury Cultural Experience was a 25-week project. Miss Coco was in partnership with a middle school whose student population requested access to cultural arts. This culturally-responsive after school series was conceptualized and designed by Miss Coco to support black student achievement, excellence and student voice.

The educators and senior administration report highly on the student's impact and improved student engagement from this artistic experience. The showcase highlighted students individually and collectively.
