AlgomaTrad

AlgomaTrad is dedicated to the celebration and sharing of the traditional music, dance, arts and crafts that are part of our Canadian culture and heritage in a intergenerational, non-competitive, and hands-on atmosphere.Every August since 2004 we have organized the week-long AlgomaTrad Family Camp that offers workshops and concerts in traditional music, dance, art, and heritage craft in a multi-generational and family-friendly environment on St. Joseph Island in Ontario (approximately 45-minutes southeast of Sault Ste. Marie). Throughout the year, AlgomaTrad presents family community dances, school dance programs, concerts, and workshops in everything from fiddling to bird feeder building and from cultural theme weekends to blacksmithing and fibre arts. We are currently developing the AlgomaTrad Centre, an heritage arts centre on St. Joseph Island.
