The Saskatchewan Music Conference (SMC) is going virtual!

Due to COVID-19, the SMC organizing committee has made the difficult decision to move the conference online this year. While we are disappointed that we won't be able to gather together in person, we are excited by the opportunities that will be afforded by an online format.

Regardless of the venue, SMC will remain the ultimate creative venue for developing musicians and furthering professional development opportunities for music professionals, volunteers, students and educators in the province!

World-class speakers are currently being booked to deliver engaging sessions in band, orff, diversity and classroom music that will allow participants to explore the depths of their creativity. 12 live sessions will run during the one-day event, but all sessions will be recorded and available through a password protected site after the event. That's right; this year you won't have to miss out on any of the sessions, you'll have access to all of them right at your fingertips!

While we will be unable to host the Band, Choral and Orff Ensembles this year, a FREE Reading Session will be available at the end of the conference to anyone who wishes to participate.

We hope to reach more people both within and outside of Saskatchewan this year, and we hope that you will join us as we explore SMC through a virtual lens!

SMC is proudly hosted by the Saskatchewan Music Educators Association. SMEA is part of the Professional Growth Network with the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, and this conference is part of SMEA's commitment to furthering professional development opportunities for teachers in the province.
