On Tuesday, May 30th, 2017, Hollycrest Middle School is hosting a rich curriculum day of engaging arts experiences that will tap into students' imaginations, creativity, strengths, and abilities!

The students will experience hands-on workshops led by professional artists and arts educators that have experience working with children with special needs. During their sessions the students will be given the opportunity to express themselves through dance, drama, music, storytelling, and visual arts!

The artists and arts educators including: visual arts sessions by former Visual Arts Instructional Leader Vanessa Barnett and Hollycrest’s very own Diane Taylor-Sexton. The SEA department’s Christine Harvey-Kerr will run a technology-based video dance session. Also thanks to the generosity of Mariposa In The Schools we have Juno and Grammy nominated guitarist and singer Ken Whiteley who will run our music sessions, and during the lunch hour students will participate in interactive drumming with Njacko Backo, a brilliant percussionist from Cameroon.

Please come and join us for this very special day! Each student participant in our 4th annual student symposium will also receive a participation gift at the end of the day. RSVP via Google Form: https://goo.gl/forms/e5p8nzVYpWdiwptP2
