Aruna Antonella Handa, PhD is a multimedia artist and Artistic Director of the Future Food Salons. Her work in schools includes theatrical and participatory workshops and assembly presentations to explore the future of food with themes tied to those being of the current salon, Voyage to the Anthropocene. The Future Food Salons have toured cities in Canada and the US and have been reviewed in local, national and international press.

Anthropocene: Rocking the Future of Food

This is the dawning of the Anthropocene. What this means is that humankind is now the most impactful geological force on the planet. In participatory workshops, we explore relationships between food and rock, specifically the planet’s geological record, the strata of rock that will tell the story of humankind’s impact.

Workshops:

  • Plastiglomerate: Anthropocene Rock
  • Fungi Rules the World
  • Dinner is served… on Mars.

Assembly:

  • Voyage to Anthropocene: a performance concert.
