Alejandra Diaz

Hello!
I am Alejandra Diaz; I hold Decorative and Graphic Designer diplomas. While in Mexico, I refined my artistic skills to transform the art of Mexican Paper Mache, resulting in a unique art style know as “Alebrijes”. My work has been displayed in various shows throughout Mexico City. Several of my pieces were commissioned by private collections in Mexico and Canada.

I have worked with people of all ages, through workshops and classes offered in my studio; “La Casa del Alebrije” and numerous art residencies in local schools, many of them with the generous support of Manitoba Arts Council and Engaging Fusion.

My goal is to offer unique art programs designed to nourish and encourage the students creativity, through many different themes and mediums while supporting teachers with curriculum subjects.
Working in collaboration with many teachers over the years has given me the opportunity to create projects that support and enhance various Essential Skills, including but not limited:

Creative Expression (Idea, Sketch and Realization)
Understanding Art in Context (Culture, Nature and History)
Valuing Artistic Experience (Artist' Statement)
Behavior Strategies (Self-Monitoring, Mental Health)
