Andrew completed the Bachelor of Music degree (2008) from Baylor University in piano performance (cum laude) and the Master of Music degree (2010) in applied music (piano) from the University of Alberta. His principle teachers have included Jane Abbott-Kirk and Jacques Després. Masterclass participations have included Krassimira Jordan, Stéphane Lemelin, Peter Longworth, Marvin Blickenstaff, Jane Margath, Alan Chow, Nelita True, Michel Fournier, and Bruce Vogt. Early in his musical career, Andrew became interested in healthy piano technique, performance anxiety and injury prevention, and overall musical wellness through the practices and teachings of Dorothy Taubman and the Alexander Technique. His academic research in these fields has led to international conference paper presentations as well as local music association workshop presentations.
