Taryn Lee

Hello! I am an neurodivergent artist and educator with a Bachelor of Design from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in Fashion Communication. Since February 2023, I've been teaching monthly CAMH art workshops at their Patient & Family Learning Space. Workshops focus on using art to become present, enhance well-being and enjoy the creative process alongside others in an inclusive, accessible community space. Since January 2023, I've been teaching a monthly drop-in sewing, mending, and repair workshop at the 519 Community Centre. Participants learn basic hand sewing techniques to repair their clothing and how to use a sewing machine. I've had experience teaching children art at a private school in Toronto in a classroom setting. I am a longtime member of Workman Arts and have had works in past Being Scene shows and exhibitions. I've instructed as an online teacher with Workman Arts for two semesters in 2022 creating two curriculums for a 5-week and 10-week course to learn expressive fashion illustration. In my personal arts practice, I create portraits, figurative works and fashion illustrations with watercolour, oil paint, drawing and inks. I'm a fellow of the Yale CAMH Let(s) Lead program. I enjoy learning new things, improving art skills, and sharing my love of art with others through teaching, connecting and collaborating.
