MUSIC PROGRAMS

Music and Film Manitoba offers a range of financial assistance programs for music projects to support the growth of Manitoba's already thriving music industry. As a government funding agency, the Corporation helps recording artists and songwriters in Manitoba develop and promote their art through the following programs.

Production

This program aims to support the production of culturally significant and commercially viable sound recordings in Manitoba. Applicants may apply to one of the three program levels described below.

Production - Artists from outside the province

This program is designed to encourage non-Manitoba resident artists to come to Manitoba and use Manitoba recording studios and work with Manitoba producers and recording professionals. It also aims to increase business and experience for Manitoba professionals in the music recording industry.

Promotion

This program is designed to help Manitoba artists market and promote a completed music recording project. This can include hiring a publicist or marketing team, creating a website, advertising, and producing content and music videos.

Applications can be submitted at any time of the year.

Shows

This program is designed to provide Manitoba artists with financial support for touring to develop audiences outside their hometown. This includes shows and tours across Canada, the United States, or internationally.

Applications can be submitted at any time of the year.

Build

This program is designed to encourage the growth and development of competitive, sustainable and commercially viable businesses in Manitoba's music industry by providing financial support for costs associated with increasing productive capacity, improving skills within the industry and developing infrastructure.
