Explore time and space through the premiere of Canadian composer Tawnie Olson’s ‘That’s One Small Step…’ along with works by Leonard Enns, Ola Gjeilo, Voces8, and more!

A drop each of doom, death, and dread

An ounce of make believe

Stirred to the haunting sound

Of singing voices, barely perceived

At first - but then grown louder

The CMC delighting with song!

Esprit’s opening concert, I Hit My Head and Everything Changed, an impactful evening of music, will leave the audience “seeing stars”. Taking place on Sunday October 6, 2019 in Koerner Hall, the concert begins with a blast of orchestral sound in Thomas Adès’ Overture to “The Tempest”. The World Premiere of the title piece by Brian Harman, I Hit My Head and Everything Changed, is an artistic collaboration between Harman and artist Moira Ness.

Come visit North Etobicoke and York in the City of Toronto this summer to get a taste of the vibrant arts culture these communities have to offer. This program has been celebrating the extraordinary abilities of Torontonian artists since 2014. Over 100,000 people have attended Cultural Hotspot programs, exploring local art organizations, libraries, and community projects.
