Join us for an intimate evening with some of our closest friends and family in support of the work of the Room 217 Foundation. Room 217 is a music-based health arts organization that provides music care training and resources to front line workers in health and social care.

All proceeds will be going to support our palliative music care program.

Strings Fest 2020 Now in our 9th year, this annual FREE event brings together 100+ local string players from the Bel Canto Strings Academy, ranging in age from 6-75 and in level from beginner to advanced, performing alongside Mohawk Music college musicians and local professionals. This year's theme is Celebrating Black Composers and features music by Florence B Price, Francisca Chiquinha Gonzaga, Ignatius Sancho, Scott Joplin, Thomas "Blind Tom" Greene Wiggins, Lionel Ritchie, Ben E King, Michael Jackson, local artists Jaedon Daly and Liam Taylor and more.

James O'Callaghan (Canada) – Not non-other (2020) – for orchestra and octophonic electronics

Alfred Schnittke (Russia) – Concerto Grosso No. 1 (1977) – for 2 solo violins, harpsichord, prepared piano and string orchestra

Our fundraising evening begins at 7:00pm with an opening reception.

Passions are stirred in this creative fusion of jazz, gospel and choral music, highlighted by the Canadian premiere of Will Todd’s evocative Easter oratorio, Passion Music. Immerse yourself in the improvisatory stylings of John Sherwood, the soulful flair of songstress Melissa Davis, and the upbeat vibe of a jazz combo.

Indulge in the sweet nostalgia of Christmas! A memorable evening of joyous carols and tales, both heartfelt and light-hearted, narrated by Stratford and Shaw Festival’s Benedict Campbell, will add festive spirit to the coldest of winter nights in our land of snow, skates and sleighs. An Orpheus holiday favourite not to be missed!
