This year’s conversations will connect book lovers across the country with bestselling authors in support of the Environment-Cancer Fund at the Cancer Research Society. As part of BC Culture Days 2021, this workshop will introduce participants to creating a pouch made of leather or fabric with basic beadwork. The focus will be building practical skills of beading and sewing. Supplies will be available but feel free to bring your own to add your own sense of flair to your project.

While participants are encouraged to create a leather pouch for themself or a loved one, the group will be engaging in storytelling as a means to reflect on the meaning of medicine pouches and what are things they would like to carry with them in their day-to-day lives.

“Street art” is the theme of Arts Alive! 2021, bringing together musicians, artists and artisans. On Friday, September 17, the festival will host two concerts during which a Quebec City painter will create a painting inspired by the music. The painting will be officially revealed the following day.

The Wood Buffalo Excellence in Arts Awards, is an annual program that recognizes and celebrates excellence in various areas of the arts and builds awareness of the incredible contribution artists make to Wood Buffalo.
