As anyone who has spent any time beside the St. Lawrence Seaway knows, this river is anything but peaceful and quiet; it is frequently very noisy, especially at daybreak when birds start to sing. Guided by Louise Campbell, participants will discover her sound installation Sources, an outdoor installation of music inspired by the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River, featuring works inspired by the birdlife of Georgian Bay to the vast open spaces of the Magdalen Islands. The outdoor installation located in Parc Frédéric-Back, its companion album and cultural mediation workshop Taking It Outside: Music & Art Inspired By Nature are meant to encourage and deepen its listeners’ reflection on their own sense of place and connection with waterways.

This installation is coupled with an introductory birding workshop led by environmental educators from GUEPE to learn about species that can be observed in the Parc.
