UNESCO International Arts Education Week, May 25-31, 2015

UNESCO’s International Arts Education Week will take place, this year, from May 25 to 31. We are delighted to share a very helpful pdf document prepared by the World Alliance for Arts Education explaining the background of this celebratory week and suggesting various activities that arts educators may wish to engage in during the week to advocate for arts education. The 2015 National Roundtable for teacher education in the arts is fast approaching on May 28, 2015 at the University of Ottawa.

The event will present a balance of small and larger group shared experience and rich conversation that may lead to important recommendations affecting all that we do. There will be several outstanding guest speakers who will present intense insights guaranteed to inspire.

John Hobday Award Winner Announced!

Ottawa, April 10, 2014 – The 2014 winner of the Canada Council John Hobday Award in Arts Management is Chris Lorway, Executive Director of Soundstreams in Toronto. The $10,000 prize, made possible through a generous endowment from The Samuel and Saidye Bronfman Family Foundation, is awarded annually to established and mid-career arts managers for professional development or mentorship.
