From October 27 until November 4, we're pleased to offer your students or your child's class an engaging and affordable virtual arts experience featuring our acclaimed production Old Man and the River.

In a forest where rivers sing, trees giggle, and curious dragonflies come to visit, a grumpy little man lives all alone in his little house. Every day is exactly the same and he likes it that way. But one day...a magical creature leaps into his life and everything changes!

Performed without words using artful tabletop puppetry and evocative music, this humorous, and heartwarming story about adjusting to change and making new friends, Old Man and the River has been nominated for multiple Dora Awards and has toured extensively across Canada.

Now, the show is available in a high-quality filmed version accompanied by an engaging and interactive post-show workshop!

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

In this active and “on the spot” workshop, students will have the opportunity to meet all the characters in the play again and then together with the puppets, recall and replay their different actions, sounds, and feelings from the story. Students will then learn more about puppetry and how the puppeteers work together to animate both traditional puppets and objects using movement and music.
