  • In-School Performances

    We mentor a local Youth Advisory Council formed for the purposes of promoting music in local community that appeals to youth. Carberry's Youth Advisory Council organized a public performance by Yukon power trio Speed Control. This year, selected through student polling results, the band New Renaissance will be playing Carberry Collegiate on Thursday March 21st.

  • In-School Workshops

    In spring 2018 we offered a workshop facilitated by professional musicians Graeme and Jody Peters highlighting the contributions Canadian Musicians have made to the popular music mainstream. We hope offer an elementary school workshop in December 2019 educating students on the traditional Cree Hoop Dance as part of the Hip Hop Hoop dance show performed by Terrance Littleton and Chance Perry.

  • Private Lessons

    Our dance instructor and guitar instructor offer private lessons to interested parties. These are arranged by instructors, we provide students with their contact information.

  • Performances

    In August 2018 we were pleased to host Machine de Cirque's outdoor modern circus show Truck Stop at Carberry Fairgrounds. In November 2018 we had Mika Dawn and The Janzen Boys perform at our first annual Hand Made Market.

  • Group Classes

    We offer a number of group classes; from cultural cooking, to dance, and teen drama. We are always interested in exploring new art forms and disciplines. We currently run an After School Art program every Monday school is in session which promotes crafts, composing music, and performance based exploration games and activities.

  • Camps

    We run a summer dance camp every year for preschool aged children, ages 5-7, 8-11, and 12 years and up. In summer 2018 we offered a week long camp with Winnipeg based choreographer Stephanie Strugar, supported by Healthy Together Now. The camp was offered free to participants.

  • Workshops

    We offer a variety of workshops on painting, sewing, Ukrainian Culture, season crafts and more!

Featured Project

Canada 150 Mosaic

On November 9th and 10th 2017, Carberry became a part of the bigger picture that is Canada 150 Mosaic. If you aren’t yet familiar with the project it’s in celebration of Canada turning 150 years old. The objective is to create a mural including all provinces and territories, 150 murals that when united will form one gigantic mosaic.
It is an empowering experience for anyone to feel a part of something. It gives value to your individual efforts and allows a feeling of wholeness that only being united with others can give you. The creation of this mural by 237 participants, artists Phil Alain and Paul Lavoie has been a beautiful expression of the wholeness that exists here in the community of Carberry. 
A special thanks to Grady Stephenson and the rink staff who came through in our time of need by providing the facilities needed to make this project possible. To the amazing community members who donated to this project; The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #153, The Carberry Elks #446, Carberry Chamber of Commerce, Links on Main, Styles and Trends, Reilly’s Home Hardware, Carberry and Area Community Foundation, and all the individuals that bought a tile in support of the students of Carberry Collegiate and RJ Waugh who participated, Carberry Plains Arts Council graciously thanks you.
