Artbeat Studio Inc.

We are a community-based, peer-supported program offering space, community, and mentorship to those who use creative expression as part of their mental health recovery journey. Often those in our programs also experience the challenges of low income, disability, and social isolation, which diminishes their capacity to live a full, thriving life.

Through a holistic, recovery-oriented, and flexible approach, our programming fosters healing, empowerment, and belonging. We have three main programs: Artists-in-Residence - a 6-month residency program offered twice a year in the Exchange District, offering individuals supporting their mental health recovery through artmaking studio space to create while in a supportive community; Upbeat Artworks, a gallery boutique social enterprise at Portage Place Shopping Centre, created to encourage and empower our residency alumni to continue their mental health recovery journey through artmaking, creating a space for them to display and sell their artwork, and tell their story; and Studio Central, an urban art centre, also in Portage Place Shopping Centre, offering daily free art-programming for adults. All of our programs are free of charge as we work together to enhance the lives of our participants and their community.
