WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Theatre Terrific pioneers inclusive opportunities for artists of all abilities to develop performance skills and collaborate in the production of theatrical works. Through its work, Theatre Terrific challenges audiences to be open to the impact of thought provoking art.

​All of Theatre Terrific’s classes, workshops, community, and professional productions are made up of people of all nationalities, abilities, cultures, ages, genders, experience and backgrounds. This means that at any given time, a cast or class may include people who may have mental health issues, developmental challenges, physical challenges, or simply practicing actors who want to learn new methods of inclusive collaborative theatre development.

Note: We have offered online classes during the pandemic, but at this time seek to "gather" live to share, learn and create.

We do not have a theatre space but utilize various studio spaces for classes, workshops and production development. Our office in the Woodwards Heritage Building is our one permanent location.

    We produce a large community production each year for the Vancouver Fringe Festival and the Heart of the City Festival. This production includes artists from all over the Lower Mainland and is a large diverse community. These productions always seek to address issues that are relevant to society as a whole. Such topics as the environment, work, relationship, racism, family, ad infinitum. The final collaborative production is fully owned and expressed by the collected perspectives of each and every cast member. The process utilizes respect, rigour and risk to fully explore and honor each and every cast members artistic sharing. We also produce one fully professional production each year. Two productions are in formative development: TREE DRUM; the lived story of Enoch artist Bill Beauregarde , scooped at 3 years old and how he built his first drum and SURVIVING SAMSARA; the lived story of Kagan Goh and his struggles with the highs of mania and the lows of depression to survival as an activist.

  • Group Classes

    Theatre Terrific has offered many classes throughout the past years. Acting, movement, dance, choral, marionette making, puppetry, film making, mask and more. At this present time we are offering group choral classes and also Indigenous drumming classes.

  • Workshops

    Artistic Director, Susanna Uchatius has given many workshops throughout the years. She specializes in workshops on the process of establishing respectful equitable inclusive creative collaboration with diverse populations. She has done this both nationally, internationally in studio and online.

  • Outreach Programs

    Please look at our website: www.theatreterrific.ca Many examples of our work are there to be seen and explained as we have done outreach to the elderly, youth and in our work bring many together who would normally not have the opportunity to work, share, share and create in a respectful environment that honors their many unique gifts.
