Marjorie Young

Born in Vancouver, BC, Marjorie has practiced visual arts since childhood. She has a background in photography, film animation, print-making, drawing, painting, Asian brush painting, jewelry design, and teaching art.
Due to family influences to "get a real job", she completed university degrees to become a speech-language pathologist to work with communicatively impaired adults and children. She was able to apply her artistic skills in developing and illustrating speech and language therapy materials, and using art as communication therapy with brain-injured, autistic, and ESL clients.
She is a flautist with an adult community orchestra, "A Little Night Music", which supports music education in schools and has performed in annual public concerts from 1996 to the present. She has been the ALNM's Art Director since 1998, desiging posters and concert programs to promote public concerts in support of music education in schools.
