Tim Francis

Tim was born at Hamilton, Ontario but his earliest memories of being immersed in artwork were in North Vancouver when, as a young child, his mother, renowned artist Dorothy Francis, used to sit him down at the dining room table with pastels and paper. Drawing came naturally to the young artist and he would often submit detailed drawings in place of essays in grade school. In one instance he spent many hours creating a very detailed pencil drawing of an oil refinery for a science project, receiving an A+ for his efforts. That experience was to help shape his view of how he might get by in the world. Francis has exhibited his acrylic paintings in many Canadian Cities and was featured as a Master Painter of the World by International Artist Magazine in 2001.
Currently living in Kamloops, Tim continues to paint what he now describes as, “Magical landscapes. I’ve made a conscious decision to loosen up, both with the subject matter and with the technique. I’m trying to convey my personal feel for the region in these new paintings and I want viewers to recognize that magic exists behind every landscape.
