A contemporary realist, Patrick Higgins' work centers on the human figure.Traditional portraiture with a high level of excellence and depth as well as more abstracted groups of ambiguously arranged people characterize his work. He works in oil and acrylic in a very painterly way. His paintings hang in many collections including the Alberta permanent provincial collection.
