Julie Prescesky

Julie Prescesky studied fine arts in British Columbia and Nova Scotia and is now happily settled in the beautiful city of Montreal. She is a graphic designer, having worked with clients like Just For Laughs, and Blendtec and many small businesses. She is passionate about storytelling and empowering others to tell their stories by helping to equip them with technique and confidence to go for it. She is an illustrator and writer for children and coordinates the Montreal area gatherings of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (www.canadaeast.scbwi.org). Julie adores making art on location - at the metro station, out on the sidewalks downtown, or from the warmth of a coffee shop. She has live sketched events ranging from comedy shows to documentary theater performances to weddings. She is a mixed media artist and is comfortable in many fine art traditional and digital applications. Julie also works with textiles and has collaborated with other artists, namely the Touva Collective, to design and construct garments for performance. Julie's love for textiles is emphasized in her portfolio of surface pattern design (all over prints). Julie is open to travel and would love to talk about your next project.
