Tuula Kilgour

In her retirement from high school Art teaching, Tuula is enjoying the time to expand her own creativity. Presently, she is carving in woodblocks, logs, and driftwood, tooling in copper, painting rocks or whatever sparks her intuitive nature. Her subject matter are based on wildlife and the creations take on the characteristics of the shapes, forms and textures she discovers within each material. Realism and whimsy are dancing to life in many forms. Since 2001, she continues as a contract lecturer at Lakehead University Faculty of Education, teaching Curriculum and methods in the Visual Arts to classes from September to November and January to March, giving her some fabulous time off for personal development.
