Born in Lac St-Jean, Claude Bouchard studied at the École des beaux-arts de Québec and the École des beaux-arts de Montréal, graduating with a specialization in painting. She also obtained a degree to teach art from the Université du Québec à Montréal.
Claude taught art at several public schools in Montreal between 1967 and 1969, and at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal from 1974 to 1977.
Her unique concept, From Children’s Drawings, an art project centering on human and animal characters, was highlighted in numerous professional exhibitions throughout the world between 1978 and 1993.
A precursor, she recreates cuddly toys of human beings and animals, precisely as they are drawn by children.
