Marilyn Marnie Setka-Mooney

My practice as an arts educator is to help others either explore their voice (Infants/Children/Teens/Adults), maintain their voice whether it’s from medical conditions from various illnesses or surgeries, or simply to sing and build one’s’ voice for the joy and health of it! A Somatics Voicework practioner as well as a Richard Miller practioner. Movement is crucial to unleashing one’s’ potential in their voice. Spent many years helping those to succeed in RCM voice exams, and Music theory, Musicianship and Aural skills as well. Past faculty member of both the Canadian College of Performing Arts and the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Open to all voices, musical genres, and enjoy guiding students towards setting realistic and practical goals for their own journey into music. Beginner piano, ukulele, and piano students also welcome. An active jazz performer with On the ‘hat, and as professional soprano soloist. Was in Vancouver band scene with “Spin Doctors” then “Two Left Feet” for just under a decade.
