Piano and Theory
Have loved the piano as long as I can remember. Took classical piano and then joined Rock and Roll bands as a teenager. Went off to study jazz at Grant McKewan in Edmonton for a while then came home to Lethbridge to get my ARCT, I became a member of ARMTA in 1979 and have been teaching and learning from my students and colleagues every since. I am very happy with all of the workshops, masterclasses, festivals and other events that Lethbridge has to offer and with how the teachers work so well together.
My students are very succesful in festivals and exams but my primary focus is to keep them learning, loving and playing the piano. I work with beginners to advanced level students, mentally and physically challenged students and everything in between. A goal for me is to use more technology in my studio but I really do love just playing the piano together the most. Practicing yoga has drawn me to want to understand the mechanics of the body better and the choreography it takes at the piano to produce a beautiful tone and to prevent injuries.
