Carolyn Steeves

Mrs. Carolyn Steeves, a native of New Brunswick, received a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario. She later completed a Masters in Music at the University of Calgary. Mrs. Steeves maintains a very active Piano Studio in Strathmore. Her students, who range from 5 to adult and from beginner to the ARCT level, have won awards at the Local, Provincial and National level. She has had students in the Academy Program for Young Artists at the Mount Royal University Conservatory in Calgary. She is a member of the Alberta Piano Teacher’s Association, the Alberta Registered Music Teacher’s Association and is a Royal Conservatory of Music Certified Teacher. Mrs. Steeves was awarded a Steinway & Sons Top Teacher Award in 2016, 2018 and 2019 for outstanding instruction and leadership in piano and music education. Mrs. Steeves is a Founder and the Artistic Director of Strathmore United Church’s Concert Series, Arts in 817, founded in 2017. Mrs. Steeves is a Founder and President of the Strathmore Performing Arts Festival, founded in 2018. She is Chair of The Vault Cultural Collective founded in 2021. She is a Minister of Music at Strathmore United Church and is a Member at Large of the Alberta Registered Music Teacher’s Association (Calgary Branch) and the Calgary Representative on the Provincial ARMTA Board.
