The Toronto Animated Image Society (TAIS) is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to exploring and promoting the art of independent animation through production, screenings, workshops and exhibitions. One of our main goals is to Coordinate community engagement projects and ongoing outreach via skills-building workshops delivered within the Greater Toronto Area and beyond, to communities in Southeastern Ontario.

  • Field Trips

    Up to 20 students will visit TAIS headquarters for a talk by a experienced animator, who will share insights about the animation industry and provide art and career tips. Students will then be able to create a stop motion animation with the professional equipment available at TAIS.

  • In-School Workshops

    Through our Animation City program we provide: stop-motion workshops, pixilation workshop, rotoscoping workshops. All can be customized to fit the student's needs.

Animation City

“Animation City” is a fun and different way of learning through media education. Our hands-on workshops will encourage students to be imaginative and inventive while creating stories through the art of animation.

The “Animation City” workshops are a great crossover of visual and media arts and a resourceful complement to the Ontario curriculum. TAIS provides all the equipment and materials needed for the workshop.
