Danielle Folkerts

Danielle Folkerts is a contemporary visual artist and art educator, originally from Alberta, living and working in Kingston, Ontario. Her formal education includes a Visual Arts Diploma from Red Deer College, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, from the Alberta College of Art + Design, majoring in Painting. She has attended artist residencies and workshops across the globe and is known for her expressive paintings, ocean-inspired textiles, upbeat and comprehensive workshops, and vibrant large-scale murals for Lululemon and more. She's the face behind The Travelling Artisan - a resource, business, and brand focusing on art, travel and education.

When she's not in her studio painting or buried under a pile of wool, you can find her coordinating and instructing modern and innovative workshops and programs in a wide range of mediums including: acrylic painting, watercolour painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media, weaving, felting, drawing and more. She caters to all ages, abilities and skill levels, and has diverse experience working with developing artists, schools, community centres, private groups, military families, special celebrations, and arts-focused educational platforms. She has a zest for art education and creative programming, and loves providing others with valuable opportunities and experiences to explore, connect, and develop their own creativity.
