The Arts Council of Ladysmith and District (ACLD) brings together artists & arts lovers of all styles and mediums and provides artistic opportunities and experiences within the community and surrounding areas. The ACLD is comprised of two locations: The Arts and Heritage Hub which houses an arts classroom, printmaking studio and large interpretive arts space and the Ladysmith Gallery located in downtown Ladysmith which hosts two arts shows a month as well as art pop ups & markets and has a shop of small works from over 60 artists from across Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. The Arts Council hosts a summer juried arts festival (Arts On The Avenue) and participates in various community events through their outreach program.

    The ACLD hosts Spring Break and Summer Arts Camp for children. We are able to provide scholarships to child in low income housing to be able to attend summer camps.

  • Workshops

    The ACLD hosts between 35-40 classes and workshops each year in a variety of mediums and skill levels which are taught by working artists and professionals in their fields.

  • Outreach Programs

    The ACLD participates in various events through their outreach program. Usually providing free arts programming at events such as National Indigenous Day, Pride Celebrations, Markets and local events. The outreach program also works with schools and other not-for-profit organizations through collaboration and participation.
