Karen LeBlanc

I am a fibre artist and weaver. I teach weaving and I have created two public art installations. I have exhibited my pieces across Canada and in the US - in fashion shows, galleries and festivals. I returned to school as a mature student and single mother of two little boys in 1985. I now have a Business Certificate, a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education (Adult Ed). I worked for non-profit organizations for many years and retired from an Indigenous non-profit organization in 2019 after working there for over 10 years. I am now a full-time fibre artist and weaver. I also teach weaving and I offer a Hang-a-Heart workshop to schools in memory of Indigenous children who did not return home from a Residential School.
