Elektra is one of Canada’s leading adult treble choirs, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded in 1987, Elektra is dedicated to artistic excellence, mentorship, and the creation and performance of compelling choral music by diverse Canadian and international composers. Under the direction of Cassie Luftspring, the choir presents an annual concert season, commissions new works, collaborates with artists across disciplines, and supports the development of emerging conductors and composers. Elektra also engages audiences nationally and internationally through recordings, festivals, touring, and digital programming that amplify Canadian choral artistry.

    Elektra presents an annual season of concerts in Vancouver featuring choral music by Canadian and international composers, including premieres, commissions, interdisciplinary collaborations, and festival performances. The choir also participates in national and international touring, recordings, and community-engaged performances that connect audiences with contemporary choral artistry.

  • Workshops

    Elektra’s Reading Session for New Compositions supports emerging and established composers through the live exploration of new choral works. Participants hear their music sung by a professional-calibre adult treble choir, receive artistic feedback, and engage directly with singers and conductors in a collaborative workshop environment focused on artistic development.

  • Outreach Programs

    Elektra’s outreach includes the Mira Mentorship Program, which gives high school-aged sopranos and altos the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside Elektra singers. Choral Encounters brings community choirs together to sing for and with one another in a welcoming, collaborative setting. These Free with RSVP events support access, mentorship, and community connection through choral music.
