One grant is presented to a graduating high school student entering university or college in one of the following programs: literary arts, performing arts, or visual arts.

Eligibility Requirements
The Morris and Beverly Baker Foundation Youth Grant

  • Has been a resident of the City of Windsor or one of the municipalities within Essex County for at least one year prior to applying for this grant.
  • Is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
  • Is a high school student who is graduating in the current school year or who has graduated in the past two years and will pursue a post-secondary education in the arts.
  • Has received basic art training (formal or informal) in your field.
    • This could include high school art courses, workshops, seminars, mentorships etc. or you are self-taught, and are now practicing your art or craft for the long term.
  • Can demonstrate a commitment to your artistic development.
    • Do you attend workshops, seminars, courses or receive mentorship in your field?
  • Can provide evidence of involvement in the local arts community.
    • Have you volunteered at an arts organization, arts event or festival in Windsor-Essex? Have you worked at an arts-related business?

* The grant recipient must show proof of enrollment in a post-secondary institution to receive the grant funds.
