Teaching the SDGs through Art

Developed by the Aga Khan Foundation Canada in partnership with the Government of Canada, these toolkits of lesson plans and activities explore the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through:

  • Sustainable development initiatives from Aga Khan Foundation Canada
  • Centuries-old artefacts from the Aga Khan Museum
  • Stories highlighting Canada’s commitment and contributions towards the SDGs

They have created four toolkits to address four of the SDGs: Good Health and Well-Being, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, and Life on Land. These toolkits of lesson plans and activities supports curriculum expectations for Grade 6 to 12 learners across Canada, as well as those enrolled in an International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. There are ties to Social Studies, Visual Arts, World Culture, World Issues, and more.
