Virtual Access to Textile Museum of Canada

The Textile Museum of Canada’s collection consists of more than 15,000 objects including a salmon skin suit from China; 2,000 year old Nazca fragments from Peru; and a hooked rug by artist Florence Ryder (Standing Buffalo Reserve, Saskatchewan) that incorporates traditional Sioux designs.

While only a small percentage of the collection can be displayed in their galleries at once, the online collection allows you to access all 15,000+ objects from over 200 regions of the world, 24 hours a day!

Brief Background: Directed by Dr. Kathy Browning, Faculty of Education, Laurentian University, this project interviewed 14 Indigenous, Francophone, and Anglophone artists in Greater Sudbury and Manitoulin Island about their art to support the new Ontario Ministry of Education: The Arts Guidelines, particularly Visual Arts. Artists were interviewed and videotaped in partnership with the Director of the Laurentian University Film Studio Dr. Hoi Cheu.

Prologue Arts Champion Awards

In 2016, Prologue Performing Arts launched the Arts Champion Awards to recognize educators, community leaders and presenters who work tirelessly to ensure that young people have access to performing arts experiences. The award is made annually to at least one individual who exemplifies the vision that Prologue has supported for over half a century!

Windsor Endowment for the Arts - Elizabeth Havelock Grant

The Elizabeth Havelock Grant in the Arts is awarded to support the professional and creative development of the mid-career artist in any discipline. This grant may be used to:

  • Sustain the artist;
  • Develop a new project;
  • Support an ongoing project;
  • Aid research and study;
  • Promote new forms of art to the general public;
  • and/or Encourage creativity and innovation.

Artists who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply.
