My focus within recent work has been exploring how fate can be received and understood differently from person to person, and projecting those ideas through the imagery of fortune cookies.
I find them to have a certain degree of versatility that relates to both believers and non-believers in their ability to predict the future. Their messages can be interpreted in incredibly interesting and playful ways.
I want to utilize these cookies to question how the messages we receive on a daily basis are packaged to feel personalized even though they are in fact part of mass print production.
