Join us on October 16th from 5:30 – 8:30pm for a very special Eduarts Networking Hub on the theme of “Creativity for Young People” with a focus on arts in relation to teaching. In this free event, teacher-candidates from the University of Ottawa along with artist-educators and leaders in Ottawa’s arts and education community will have the opportunity to network, build connections and discover the excellent work going on in the arts and learning communities of Ottawa.

Participants will also be treated to a presentation by Tina Fedeski, the Executive and Artistic Director of The Leading Note Foundation and OrKidstra, as well as another engaging presentation from Tracey Tinley, recipient of the Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence in the arts field.

As Executive Director of the Leading Note Foundation, Tina proudly accepted a Peace Award from the Mayor of Ottawa in 2011 in recognition of The Leading Note Foundation’s impact on the community of Ottawa. In spring 2012 Yasir Naqvi, MPP Ottawa Centre, presented Tina with the Leading Women/Leading Girls, Building Communities Award. She is also recognized as a Kickass Canadian, and late in 2012 she received, with great honour, the Canadian Institute for Child Health Leadership Award.

Tracey Tinley teaches grades 4 - 6 at Berrigan Elementary School in Nepean. Her mission to have each student realize "their power within" and their potential to be a better version of themselves. She ignites a passion for learning in her students by teaching new writing styles such as 'explode the moment' to express themselves and critical thinking skills. She was selected to work with the Critical Thinking Consortium in Vancouver to create online social studies units to complement the Ontario curriculum, and she was also chosen to become a literacy coach by her district and now presents workshops for colleagues on how to improve their math lessons.

Join us for this free Networking hub at Cafe Ecolo, in the Lamoureux Building on the University of Ottawa Campus (145 Jean-Jacques-Lussier Private). Refreshments will be provided. Register today!
