Eleanor Drury Children's Theatre (EDCT) is a non-profit, volunteer-run charitable theatre organization in Thunder Bay.
For almost 40 years, EDCT has provided opportunities for over 1000 young people ages 6-18 to experience the joy and magic of a live theatre production and to grow and express themselves through theatre. Since 1982, EDCT has produced 37 plays and shares the live theatre experience by making theatre affordable and accessible to the diverse population in our Northern community. EDCT hires local artists to work with youth and engage them in all creative aspects of our productions.

  • In-School Performances

    EDCT provides low cost matinees specifically for Thunder Bay area schools as part of the annual production.

  • In-School Workshops

    EDCT will be providing an in school forum theatre program in 2021. Using theatre, artists will create a forum and empower two separate groups of students to voice opinions and see their creations from the other's perspective.

  • Performances

    EDCT produces an annual live theatre production for schools and the community. Performances are developed with our youth members who are provided opportunities to participate in all aspects of the production. In response to the COVID pandemic, for the 2020/2021 season we will be offering programming for two terms. The first term will entail online theatre learning and the second term will include rehearsals and our annual production.

  • Workshops

    EDCT occasionally will offer workshops for script writing, acting etc. that are aligned with the annual production.
