Prologue Performing Arts is a not-for-profit charitable arts education organization that presents accessible performing arts experiences in schools and communities all over Ontario. We work with a group of artists and artist companies that offer performances and workshops in music, theatre, dance, Indigenous arts, storytelling, spoken word poetry, and opera, with many programs offered in French or bilingual.

We strive to enrich the lives of every young person through diverse and impactful performances and workshops. At Prologue, we believe that all young people and families should have access to the performing arts.

    The Leadership Through the Arts initiative includes The Prologue Club, which brings students into the planning process of bringing performing arts to their schools; The Northern Residency, a week-long artist residency with a Northern school culminating in a student performance; and The Student Programming Committee, a group of students who lead the conversation in choosing new artists for our company each year.

The Prologue Club

The Prologue Club is a student-led initiative that encourages students across Ontario to develop and utilize leadership skills through the selection and planning process of bringing performances and workshops to their schools.

Through participating in a Prologue Club, students will connect with their peers and gain skills in arts management, such as budgeting, public speaking, programming, and project planning, resulting in improved leadership skills through the arts and the enrichment of their school community with performing arts experiences. Each Prologue Club will receive $500 towards the cost of a Prologue performance or workshop.
