The Saskatchewan Drama Association is a Provincial Cultural Organization and Professional Growth Network of the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation. Our mission is to promote the growth and development of youth drama in Saskatchewan and to promote professional development through communication and drama development programs.

To facilitate the delivery of our mission, SDA provides four (4) $500.00 Bursaries to an eligible 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year students meeting the criteria for each bursary. Each $500.00 bursary may be split at the discretion of the SDA Bursary Committee.

Applicants:

  • Qualify in ONE of the following programs:
    1. Must be continuing in the Faculty of Education, Bachelor of Education, Arts Education Program with a concentration in Drama Education – University of Regina (Lenore Bailey Memorial Bursary);
    2. Must be continuing in the Theatre Program with a concentration in Theatre – University of Regina (Dr. George Falk Memorial Bursary);
    3. Must be continuing in a College of Education, Education Program with an emphasis on Arts Education, or Drama Education, or Theatre Education in Elementary/Middle Years Education or Secondary Teaching Areas, University of Saskatchewan (Lenore Bailey Memorial Bursary);
    4. Must be continuing in The College of Arts and Science, Drama Program, University of Saskatchewan (Dr. George Falk Memorial Bursary).
  • Must have previously participated in a Saskatchewan Drama Association Program, such as Regional Festival as a student member.
  • Submit a completed SDA's Bursary application form.
  • Submit a letter of Recommendation from the appropriate Program as follows:
    1. Lenore Bailey Memorial Bursary (University of Regina) – Faculty of Education, Arts Education, Program Head;
    2. Dr. George Falk Memorial Bursary (University of Regina) – Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance, Theatre Department Head;
    3. Lenore Bailey Memorial Bursary (University of Saskatchewan) – College of Education, Program Head;
    4. Dr. George Falk Memorial Bursary (University of Saskatchewan) – College of Arts and Science, Drama Program Head.
