ArtsNL - Professional Project Grants Program (PPGP)

ArtsNL is a non-profit Crown agency created in 1980 by The Arts Council Act. Its mission is to foster and promote the creation and enjoyment of the arts for the benefit of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

ArtsNL receives an annual grant from the Province to support a variety of granting programs, program delivery, office administration, and communications. It also seeks support from the public and private sector. It supports the following artistic disciplines: dance, film, multidiscipline, music, theatre, visual art, and writing.

Sharing Wellness - Art Worksheets from the Health Arts Research Centre

We are very excited to share our easy-to-use and fun art activities with detailed information about supplies, step-by-step instructions and points of discussion. These worksheets provide a wide variety of exercises, including activities for all ages, groups of different sizes and art experience. All of the worksheets has, as their common goal, of talking about and sharing wellness with all those involved. You will find the art worksheets organized by style of art, including: movement, visual art, music, photography or words!

Ontario Arts Council - Literary Creation Projects (Works for Performance)

Purpose

The program supports Ontario-based literary artists to complete new works for book-length publication or for public performance, and literary performers who wish to record their own repertoire. The program has two components:

  • Creation and/or recording of literary works for performance
  • Creation of literary works for publication

Ontario Arts Council - Chalmers Professional Development Projects

Purpose

The program supports opportunities for Ontario artists at any stage of their career to acquire new artistic skills to advance their arts practice. It funds all contemporary and traditional art practices that are supported at OAC. All learning must be led by an expert and include feedback throughout the training period. Experts include mentors, teachers, trainers, and Elders. Projects may include study, training, mentorship, and/or apprenticeship.

FOOTPRINTS MOVE TOOL

The Footprints Move Tool is a free resource for physical education or arts teachers and those interested in children and youth motor skill development. Learn basic biomechanics that will help you spot dangerous movement habits and tips and tricks on how to correct them. The online resource provides concise information on how bodies develop as well as sample activities for improving balance, alignment, and spinal awareness. Fun activities and teaching tips are available for different age groups, from preschool through to teens.

Supporting Arts and Learning in a Time of Crisis: November—December 2020

The overarching purpose of the digital roundtable discussion series were to gain a better
understanding of participants’ experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and effects of physical
distancing on their work in arts and learning. The first series of digital roundtable discussions took place
in March-April 2020 and a follow up series occurred in May 2020. At that time, arts and learning
stakeholders were adjusting to the early phases of the pandemic characterized by province or city-wide

John Hobday Awards in Arts Management - Canada Council for the Arts

The John Hobday Awards in Arts Management are granted to talented arts managers in Canadian professional arts organizations for professional development or mentoring purposes.

  • The Professional Development and Renewal Award is granted to an outstanding arts manager wishing to take part in a recognized program, seminar or workshop.
  • The Mentorship Award goes to an arts manager who is seeking to acquire different knowledge, experience and skills under the supervision of a mentor in his or her field.

Fogarty's Cove Scholarship

THE FOGARTY’S COVE SCHOLARSHIP was established by Ariel Rogers and Mulgrave Road Theatre. It is based on a generous donation from Ariel Rogers of the royalty fees for the use of Stan Rogers’ songs in Mulgrave Road Theatre’s 1991 touring production FROM FOGARTY’S COVE. Due to the generous support from Ariel Rogers, the amount of the scholarship was increased from $200 to $500 in 2004.
