Short-Term Projects - Creating, Knowing and Sharing: The Arts and Cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples

The Short-Term Projects component of Creating, Knowing and Sharing funds First Nations, Inuit and Métis professional and aspiring artists, cultural carriers, arts/cultural professionals, groups, collectives and arts/culture organizations. Grants provide support for any combination of eligible Creating, Knowing and Sharing activities for projects lasting up to 12 months.

First-time applicants are strongly encouraged to speak to a Program Officer before applying.

The Small-Scale Activities component of Creating, Knowing and Sharing funds activities

The Small-Scale Activities component of Creating, Knowing and Sharing funds activities that will advance your artistic career or practice. This may include acquiring materials for artistic production, engaging in career or artistic development activities or benefitting from specific expertise, advice or training from a professional artist or cultural carrier. This component is open to First Nations, Inuit and Métis individuals, artistic groups, collectives and organizations working in all disciplines.

ArtStarts Artists in Education

ArtStarts in Schools is a charitable organization that expands the role of art in education to activate learning and nurture creativity in British Columbia's young people.

Artists in Education grants support artistic programming in schools across BC, including performances, workshops and residencies.

ArtStarts Cherniavsky's Mr Music Fund

This grant has been suspended for the 2020/21 school year.

ArtStarts in Schools is a charitable organization that expands the role of art in education to activate learning and nurture creativity in British Columbia's young people.

Cherniavsky's Mr Music Fund encourages and assists young people to attend quality live performances of classical and traditional music, opera and ballet.

#DesjardinsFoundation Prizes

The #DesjardinsFoundation prizes, organized by Desjardins Foundation, award financial assistance for projects with a direct impact on kindergarten, elementary and secondary school students.

Indigo Love of Reading Foundation Literacy Fund Grant

Since 2004, the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation has been dedicated to putting books in the hands of Canadian children at high-needs elementary schools.

The Foundation provides support to high-needs elementary schools primarily through two signature programs: the Indigo Love of Reading Literacy Fund grant and the Indigo Adopt a School program.

Staff members of high-needs Canadian elementary schools are invited to apply for our programs during the following application times:

ArtsSmarts is funded through the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development’s Cultural Connections Strategy, Equinor, and ArtsNL. In Newfoundland and Labrador ArtsSmarts is managed by ArtsNL.
