Ever wonder why the colour red is so prominent or why there are so many firecracker decorations during Lunar New Year? Step inside the ancient tale of the sea-monster Nian (年) at #IntoTheLight to gain a deeper understanding of why we still celebrate these rituals and customs today. You will also get the opportunity to create your own paper lantern - a fun activity for both children and adults alike.

The Coming Out Monologues

For over a decade we have supported LGBTQ2S+ folx to take their stories from the private to the public and then create a performance. We are once again bringing these stories into the light. Join us at the Eighty Eight Brewing Co. from 7-9 PMish on December 12th. We will be showcasing the funny, poignant and personal stories of 6 folx who are trying to make their way in the world as queer. Admission is free and everyone gets a $5 bar tab to enjoy whatever refreshments they like.

Humber Masterclasses at the Toronto International Festival of Authors

Medicine Pouch Making

As part of BC Culture Days 2021, this workshop will introduce participants to creating a pouch made of leather or fabric with basic beadwork. The focus will be building practical skills of beading and sewing. Supplies will be available but feel free to bring your own to add your own sense of flair to your project.

While participants are encouraged to create a leather pouch for themself or a loved one, the group will be engaging in storytelling as a means to reflect on the meaning of medicine pouches and what are things they would like to carry with them in their day-to-day lives.

Arts Alive ! Quebec

Arts Alive ! Quebec
