Come bring your paints, colour pencils and paper to experience Sound in Living Colour!

Sound in Living Colour is an interactive concert that draws correlations between music and visual art practices. While listening to different atmospheric pieces played by Kathryn with her viola, audience members are invited to paint or draw along, reflecting on the people, places and images that inspire them to tell their life stories. Participants are invited to reflect on the music and type of imagery they experience.

Suncor Indigenous Artist Program

We’re accepting applications for the Suncor Indigenous Artist Program! Much like the Artist in Residency program, the Suncor Indigenous Artist Program follows the traditional residency model and is based on the idea of making art and engaging with the community through art. 

This program supports one Indigenous artist within ACWB’s Artist in Residency and will run for three to four weeks between September and December, 2021.
Indigenous artists from across Wood Buffalo and Canada are encouraged to apply for this opportunity.

LFM Sky Online Music Workshops

This online community event brings together amateur and professional musicians for a week of creativity and instruction. Participants focus on one of 15 workshops, such as a voice or instrument-specific session or a broader interest topic, such as Ornamentation in Baroque Music, Deciphering Chord Charts & Lead Sheets, Demystifying Improvisation, or Make Your Own Split Screen Music Video. Two additional workshops, Morning Stretch and Singing Sea Shanties, as well as a special topics lecture series are included in the registration.

Possible Worlds

A practical, five-week course for creators at all levels of development that uses ‘world creation’ techniques from game development as a starting point to realize the landscape of an imaginary world, its inhabitants, and places where drama begins. This workshop will be led by Cree playwright Kenneth T. Williams in collaboration with game developers at Improbable Canada, an Edmonton game development start-up specializing in building the next generation of flexible multiplayer role-playing games.
