This week-long Art Smarts project involved students from Grades 1, 2, 3 from École James Nisbet. I harvested birch trees and 1/4" circles were cut to represent 'beads' for the pattern which was inspired by a Métis floral pattern I designed according to the space provided.
With the generous support of the Toronto Arts Council and Ontario Arts Council, Amesbury Cultural Experience was a 25-week project. Miss Coco was in partnership with a middle school whose student population requested access to cultural arts.
Using the same set of materials, 200+ students, JK-8, created 300+ flowers that represent the unique virtues and characteristics we each hold. No two were exactly the same.

This is a mural that I recently painted with students from Lowe Farm School. We painted on panels, which were later installed in the school's front entrance.
